These woodcarvers tools are among our favorite for incising and carving eye detail in caricatures or any carving. Even if you don't carve caricatures, you will still find these woodcarvers tools are great for your detail work. A very sturdy point with almost a chisel type edge. You are sure to find many uses for this knife. These wood carving knives come to you sharp and ready to use.

Knife Handle Length: Handles are approximately 5-1/4" in length. This does vary due to the fact that all the handles are handmade. There may be slight variations in the size and shape.
Handle Material: Each handle is created out of North American hardwood. We do our best to find a highly figured piece of wood for each figured handle. The wood shown in the photo may not be the same handle material you receive.
Blade Material: Our wood carving knives are individually forged from W1 tool steel, the benefit of this kind of steel is that it produces a nice hardness that can be easily sharpened and stay sharp for a long time.

  PLEASE remember you are ordering a hand made knife, not something stamped out by a machine. As with any handmade item there are differences in the exact construction, therefore the knife may vary slightly from the photos shown. The wood handle you see in the photo may not be the exact color and figure pattern you receive. Photo may not be actual size, please refer to given dimensions.

      Our blades have a near mirror finish. This allows the blade move through the wood smoothly. There may be tooling marks still on the blade which do not affect the performance of the knife.

Very interesting tool

I wasn't too sure when I ordered if I was going to have a use for this particular blade.
In the end, it's the one I use the most ! It's perfect for all the details, precise and still very sharp.

Upswept detail knife review

I'm a "sharp nut" and these knives arrived very sharp. I maintain my edges with honing on strops with diamond emulsion. This allows me to have extremely sharp blades. Your blades take well to my techniques. I don't like the DeepWoods handles and thought I'd ordered just the blades., but that's not what I got. I normally make my own handles which I'd planned to do for these. So, now I need to remove the handles and replace them with my own. I really like your knife blades but, I do wish you had a laminated blade option. I have quite a few or your blades and all, have, or will have, my own handles which are shaped to my greatest effectiveness and comfort. I hope this review help and I'll probably be ordering more some day. Also, I thought the blade's tang end was narrower. I wanted a noce sharp blade for very fine detail. I guess you don't sell those. Thanks, anyway

Great detailer!

Been carving spoons for a couple of years and recently got interested in trying caricatures and small figures. Naturally, I had to add to my tool set (!) Very glad I chose the Upswept Detail knife - it's perfect for this type of carving! Really helps with details like eyes, clothes, hair, fur, etc. Great quality and great service, too!

Learning curve for me

To begin, The quality of the blades are top notch. For me, being new to carving with detail knives and using V tools and all are opening a whole new world of details I'm able to add. I purchased the Up swept detail knife and am just now trying to tweak the edge. I hope to come back and load a pic of my next " master piece" using this knife.

Good specialty knife

The blade shape of this knife will do a lot of things in tight places that none of my other carving knives will do. Highly useful tool. And the Deepwoods handle is beautiful as usual.

Shipping schedule:
Each knife is individually made and we make every effort to get your knife in the mail within 10 working days, this allows 4 days for shipping. So approximately 2 weeks, give or take a day or two. If you feel your order is taking too long, please feel free to ask. We will be glad to let you know the progress of your order.

All our knives are shipped through the US Postal Service. If our would like to use a different carrier please email us for shipping costs.

All U.S. orders: flat rate of $6.75 for orders under $125.00
We ship using USPS, if you would like it to ship via a different carrier please contact us for cost.

All Canadian orders: flat rate of $29.96 for all orders. Customer is responsible for any additional import/duty taxes. Yes we realize this is expensive and I wish we could make it less expensive. Orders can take 7-25 days to arrive after they have shipped so please be patient. 
We ship using USPS first class mail, if you would like it to ship via a different carrier please contact us for cost.

All orders outside the U.S. and Canada: We do not ship direct to customers outside of the U.S. and Canada. If you are located outside of the U.S. You may want to use a forwarding company. We have had many customers use this option with great success. Here are a few choices: Shipito, Shipittous, Forward2Me, Reship - these are just a few options. Do your research for one that fits you best.
     If you choose to order, please note you may be responsible for extra shipping charges, VAT and customs in your country and through the shipping company you choose.
