Perfection

These knives arrived quickly and unbelievably sharp (my fingers have the proof - lol). They have held their edge well, as I’ve tested them with some difficult cuts, and are easily sharpened with just the strope purchased. I definitely plan on buying more.

Slim Scalpel Carvers

I own 3 slim scalpel carvers in three different lengths. I have two upswept blades and just purchased straight blade a few weeks ago. Obviously I like these knives! I own 10 of Paul's knives and/or blades mounted in my own custom handles.

I purchased one of Paul's knives a few years ago and liked it so well I began selling off my other carving knives and replacing them with Paul's blades.

After the first couple of complete knives, I started buying his blades so I could mount them in matching wood for matching blade styles.

The quality and grind on these blades is absolutely amazing and allows them to be maintained surgically sharp with ease.

As I advance in years, and the arthritis in my hands grows worse, the difference in these blades over others sliding through the wood allows me to carve longer during each carving session with less pain in my hands.

The blade has the goods, a pleasure to work with, extremely versatile. The handle too is great. Aside from grabbing it, I have a way of holding detail knives like a pencil other similar more loose ways. The plain wood handle is good for this way of using a knife

I bought both blade shapes in slim profile and they are excellent for fine details but also can remove a surprising amount of wood. highly recommend.

Knife Handle Length: Handles are approximately 5-1/4" in length. This does vary due to the fact that all the handles are handmade. There may be slight variations in the size and shape.
Handle Material: Each handle is created out of North American hardwood. We do our best to find a highly figured piece of wood for each figured handle. The wood shown in the photo may not be the same handle material you receive.
Blade Material: Our wood carving knives are individually forged from W1 tool steel, the benefit of this kind of steel is that it produces a nice hardness that can be easily sharpened and stay sharp for a long time.

      PLEASE remember you are ordering a hand made knife, not something stamped out by a machine. As with any handmade item there are differences in the exact construction, therefore the knife may vary slightly from the photos shown. The wood handle you see in the photo may not be the exact color and figure pattern you receive. Photo may not be actual size, please refer to given dimensions.
      Our blades have a near mirror finish. This allows the blade move through the wood smoothly. There may be tooling marks still on the blade which do not affect the performance of the knife.

Shipping Your Wood Carving Knife


Shipping schedule:
Each knife is individually made and we make every effort to get your knife in the mail within 10 working days, this allows 4 days for shipping. So approximately 2 weeks, give or take a day or two. If you feel your order is taking too long, please feel free to ask. We will be glad to let you know the progress of your order.

All our knives are shipped through the US Postal Service. If our would like to use a different carrier please email us for shipping costs.

All U.S. orders: flat rate of $6.95 for orders under $100.00
We ship using USPS, if you would like it to ship via a different carrier please contact us for cost.

All Canadian orders: flat rate of $27.95 for all orders. Customer is responsible for any additional import/duty taxes. Yes we realize this is expensive and I wish we could make it less expensive. Orders can take 7-25 days to arrive after they have shipped so please be patient.
We ship using USPS first class mail, if you would like it to ship via a different carrier please contact us for cost.

All orders outside the U.S. and Canada: We do not ship direct to customers outside of the U.S. and Canada. If you are located outside of the U.S. You may want to use a forwarding company. We have had many customers use this option with great success. Here are a few choices: Shipito, Shipittous, Forward2Me, Reship - these are just a few options. Do your research for one that fits you best.
     If you choose to order, please note you may be responsible for extra shipping charges, VAT and customs in your country and through the shipping company you choose.
