Definitely an Upgrade
I've carved around 20ish spoons with this thing now and am very pleased. It's definitely an upgrade over the standard mora 106. It holds a better edge and is easy to sharpen. The handle is beautifully shaped and finished. It's a great tool.
|Knife Handle Length:
|Handles are approx. 5-1/2 - 6" long. This can vary because each handle is individually hand shaped.
|Each handle is created out of North American hardwood. We do our best to find a highly figured piece of wood for each figured handle. The wood shown in the photo may not be the same handle material you receive.
|Our Skinny Sloyd is individually forged from W1 tool steel, the benefit of this kind of steel is that it produces a nice hardness that can be easily sharpened and stay sharp for a long time.
PLEASE remember you are ordering a hand made knife, not something stamped out by a machine. As with any handmade item there are differences in the exact construction, therefore the knife may vary slightly from the photos shown. The wood handle you see in the photo may not be the exact color and figure pattern you receive. Photo may not be actual size, please refer to given dimensions.
Our blades have a near mirror finish. This allows the blade move through the wood smoothly. There may be tooling marks still on the blade which do not affect the performance of the knife. On this knife the carving edge is polished and the upper part towards the spine is left unpolished.
Each knife is individually made and we make every effort to get your knife in the mail within 14 working days, this allows 4 days for shipping. So approximately 3 weeks, give or take a day or two. Please feel free to ask any questions before ordering: Send Us an Email
Good knife. The handle needs to be redesigned. It's kinda slim and slick for me. But all in all it's a great knife.
This is the quintessential "I have made it" knife. If you don't think so, you're lying to yourself. Enjoy it like a fine steak. Take little bites now and then, but don't spoil yourself with it. Otherwise you'll have a lot of happiness but not enough money for the necessities. You sort of need both. Just buy your first amd enjoy it while life lasts. You never know when it'll be your last knife.
This is my first custom knife and I love it will definitely be buying here again
When I received the knife I was surprised how light it is. The handle was not exactly well inline with the blade but after a bit of sanding everything was nice. The blade is super sharp and well made.
they worked very well , just a to big for what I want to do I need a smaller blade 1 TO 1.5 inch , I am just starting to carve so don't really know what I needed .
