Very Sharp

Very sharp. Round tang made it a super easy build. This is my 6th Deepwoods purchase.

Another Great Knife

This is my 4th or 5th knife and they are all my favorite. They cut great, hold an edge and are comfortable to use….highly recommend these knifes.

Awesome knives

What can I say, I'm a carving knife addict, I bought probably 15 knives from this terrific knife maker and I'm extremely happy that I did, his knives are awesome.

Draper Detail Carving Knife

I was looking for a detail knife that was more robust than the ones I have. Stronger, but with a fine point. I stropped it when it arrived and it is shaving sharp. It also is easy to resharpen. This is the first Deepwoods Ventures knife I've purchased. I have already decided this will not be the last knife I buy from you. The bear (complete here) is a small scale model which will be used as a guide to power carve a much larger one. I used the Draper detail with a larger Sloyd knife to carve this bear.

Micro chip on my blade

I love your lnives and I own about 6 of them . This one thos has micro chips and leave’s unwanted marks on the wood 😞

The longer cutting edge on this decoy carving knife enables you to carve on the larger part of the carving and then move right into the details without changing knives. This wood carving knife is great for detail work. Named after a local wood carver. We have a lot of decoy carvers that prefer this wood carving knife. These wood carving knives come to you sharp and ready to use.

Knife Handle Length: Handles are approximately 5 1/4" in length. This does vary due to the fact that all the handles are handmade. There may be slight variations in the size and shape.
Handle Material: Each handle is created out of North American hardwood. We do our best to find a highly figured piece of wood for each figured handle. The wood shown in the photo may not be the same handle material you receive.
Blade Material: Our wood carving knives are individually forged from W1 tool steel, the benefit of this kind of steel is that it produces a nice hardness that can be easily sharpened and stay sharp for a long time.

Tang Length:

1-1/2"

Steel Dia:

1/4"

How We Make Carving Knives - Video

PLEASE remember you are ordering a hand made carving knife, not something stamped out by a machine. As with any handmade item there are differences in the exact construction, therefore the knife may vary slightly from the photos shown. The wood handle you see in the photo may not be the exact color and figure pattern you receive. Photo may not be actual size, please refer to given dimensions.
Our blades have a near mirror finish. This alows the blade move through the wood smoothly. There may be tooling marks still on the blade which do not affect the performance of the knife.
Each carving knife is individually made and we make every effort to get your knife in the mail within 10 working days, this allows 4 days for shipping. So approximately 2 weeks, give or take a day or two. Please feel free to ask any questions before ordering: Send Us an Email
