The blade has the goods, a pleasure to work with, extremely versatile. The handle too is great. Aside from grabbing it, I have a way of holding detail knives like a pencil other similar more loose ways. The plain wood handle is good for this way of using a knife

I always used the usual green compound when I stropped my knives...Until I tried Deerwood's Ventures pale compound. I absolutely love it and will never go back to the green stuff. this leaves my knives so perfectly sharp. I immediately ordered more after my first use.

Just purchased my 4th knife. These knifes are great and easy to use and sharpen. And if you happen to damage a blade just mail it back and it will be fixed right away. I would recommend trying one for yourself. Best carving knifes in my box.

All of the blades were excellent and all fit well into the hadles I made. Since recieving them they ate the only knifes i use. I'm extremely happy.

Really like this blade. Short, slim and flat grind are perfect for my detail work. The handle is a bit small for my arthritic hands. So if I’m going to be using it for awhile I wrap it with the cut protection tape. Gives the extra thickness and a better grip. Works for me.

This is the third knife that I have from Deepwoods. These are superior blades that take and keep a great edge with stropping and come sharp. The curve is just right for good chips. I do prefer to make my own handles wider than the one I had maker supplied.

Paul's bladesmithing quality really is second to none. I'm near enough to his shop that I picked up my order from him. His modest-size shop houses a serious blacksmithing operation. I was able to see many types of his blades, everything he makes will stand with the best of what's out there in the world.

I'm a nearly 30-year woodturner, so running hand-held edge cutting tools left or right-handed is second nature (I'm a righty). I'd seen a TWCA cam user online using both left and right-handed TWCA and thought it would be an advantage to own both, so I bought both left and right-handed 50mm TWCA blades. (I'd suggest this idea to to any TWCA user, the two orientations compliment each other to avoid awkward cutting strokes. It takes just a bit of practice to become good with both versions.) Paul does beautiful work, and they perform really well- I am very pleased with my purchase.

I made 1-1/8" x 1-3/8 rectanglar handles, then knocked off the corners as octagons and wiped on just one coat of linseed oil- no film finish. That size was loosely based on other tool handles in my shop, so nothing scientific, but the shape and grip works well for twisting the edge into wood. So far I've left the handles long at 24" but will shorten as I learn to use them more, and adjust the profiles as needed.
