Great for any project where you need to scoop out a surface like spoons or bowls. Allows for a more aggressive curve than a straight knife. Sharpened on one edge - hollow ground. The Skinny Sloyd or the General Roughout Carver makes a great addition to this knife for your spoon carving tool bag.
Flat ground is available, just ask or leave comment at checkout.

Tremendous Tool
By far the best tool in my bag aside from the twca cam also purchased from here! Tools hold an edge much longer than any others I've had! Just great reliable tools!
Knife Handle Length: | Handles are approximately 6" or 8" in length. This does vary due to the fact that all the handles are handmade. There may be slight variations in the size and shape. |
Handle Material: | Each handle is created out of North American hardwood. The wood shown in the photo may not be the same wood speicies you receive. |
Blade Material: | Our wood carving knives are individually forged from W1 tool steel, the benefit of this kind of steel is that it produces a nice hardness that can be easily sharpened and stay sharp for a long time. |

How to Sharpen Spoon Hook Knives - Hollow Ground or Flat Ground
The first half shows how to sharpen a hollow ground blade and the last half shows how to sharpen a flat ground blade.
RIGHT HANDED: Order “right handed” if you draw or PULL the knife towards your body with your RIGHT hand or PUSH away from your body with the LEFT hand to carve.
LEFT HANDED: Order “left handed” if you draw or PULL the knife towards your body with your LEFT hand or PUSH away from your body with the RIGHT hand to carve. These wood carving knives come to you sharp and ready to use.
PLEASE remember you are ordering a hand made knife, not something stamped out by a machine. As with any handmade item there are differences in the exact construction, therefore the knife may vary slightly from the photos shown. The wood handle you see in the photo may not be the exact color and figure pattern you receive. Photo may not be actual size, please refer to given dimensions.
Our blades have a near mirror finish. This allows the blade to move through the wood smoothly. There may be tooling marks still on the blade which do not affect the performance of the knife.
